On Saturday, March 1, former Waynedale High School standout Jaden Varner’s current college team, the Kent State Golden Flashes, lost 7-2 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Virginia Tech Hokies.

The game took place at Clark–LeClair Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Hokies this season.

The Golden Flashes’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 2 at 11 a.m. at Clark–LeClair Stadium against Indiana State Sycamores.
