There were 3,238 students enrolled in Wooster City schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.7% less than the previous year, according to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.7% of them were boys, and 48.3% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 83.7% of the Wooster City total enrollment.

Wooster City roughly covers eight schools within Wayne County and has a main office in Wooster.

Among the eight schools in Wooster City, Wooster High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1175 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In 2022, Ohio saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is an improvement for the state and is lower than the national average of 1:16.

Despite the apparent improvement, this positive trend is overshadowed by a general decline in public school enrollments, which was accelerated by the pandemic. This decline, aligned with the steady number of teachers in the state over the last 10 years, has led to low student-to-teacher ratios.
